Katharine Kitts: President and CEO
Katharine is passionate when it comes to helping organizations of all sizes get the valuable media coverage they deserve.
With training and experience in both print and broadcasting, Katharine offers a variety of knowledge during ten years in the journalism industry across Canada and around the world. Her time as a reporter for CKWX, News1130 gave Katharine the opportunity to develop a talent for announcing and telling stories to a large audience. Before developing a love for radio reporting, she wrote for The Abbotsford Mission Times, The Kamloops Daily News, The Birmingham Post in England and The Turkish Daily News in Turkey.
Katharine took her passion for media relations to another level in 2009 and started BongoJack Media Ltd., focusing on public relations consulting and communications services. Currently, Katharine works with several organizations including The Sutton Place Hotel, Denny's Restaurants, The Flag Shop, The Rockford Wok Bar Grill, The Strathcona Business Improvement Association, The Sandman Hotel Group, The Kitsilano 4th Avenue Business Association, Sandy's Furniture, Steveston's Tapenade Bistro, The Japanese Canadian National Museum and Vancouver Japanese Language School and Japanese Hall.
This year, BongoJack Media is excited and proud to have been chosen to promote the fantastic Khatsahlano! Music+Art Festival. In its third year, Khatsahlano! will take over West 4th Avenue from Burrard to Macdonald on Saturday, July 13th.
Besides consulting and organizing public relations campaigns, Katharine is on the marketing committee for the Vancouver agency, Mission Possible and volunteers with the Whistler Spirit Run. On a daily basis, Katharine looks forward to playing a major role in assisting her clients garner extensive media coverage for various projects and events.
In her spare time, she loves walking her dog, Bongo and drinking BC wine.
